In this series of lectures, we will examine the banking system in the United States during the late 19th and early 20th centuries and investigate the factors that led to the establishment of the Federal Reserve. We will also investigate the different banking systems that were used during this period, such as the Wild Cat era, Corresponding Banking, and a precursor to the Federal Reserve known as Clearing House banking.
